Kids at Science Foundation supports:

  • Hands-on STEM Education

  • Teacher Professional Development

  • Innovative Projects

  • Classroom Grants

  • Community Outreach

Teachers and science advocates have united to form the Kids at Science Foundation, a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization dedicated to working with schools, districts, and the community to collaboratively promote, support, and enhance hands-on, research-based science education for children.

Due to the generous support of the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation, K-5 teachers across Orange County will have the opportunity to register for NGSS workshops!  Fully developed units and materials (up to $500) will be provided!  We look forward to exploring NGSS Physical Science performance expectations with you.  The registration cost is $25 per workshop.

Cohort 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 STEM Specialists

The Kids at Science Foundation has launched the 7th cohort of STEM Specialists for the Next Generation Program. K-5 teachers across Orange County are encouraged to apply for this unique opportunity to become key leaders and trainers in the area of  STEM and NGSS.

Selected teachers will delve into the NGSS and California Science Framework to embed technology tools to our hands-on units that will promote inquiry-based learning rather than simply reading about science.  An honorarium of $2,000 will be awarded to selected teachers for their participation in this cohort from July 2022 - July 2023. Selected teachers will meet monthly after school to develop and/or revise NGSS Units. The Kids at Science STEM Specialists will also participate in a 3-day professional development to facilitate hands-on, NGSS workshops.
